Project Homeless Connect has made the strategic decision that this year, in lieu of having a fundraising gala<\/span> in the spring as we commonly host this time of year to raise funds for our direct services, we will instead be hosting a new event in the form of a Community Outreach Day<\/strong> to directly engage our neighbors experiencing homelessness with services and resources.
\n <\/p>\n
The Community Outreach Day will be held Tuesday, March 31st, and will be an effort made possible with the support of hundreds of volunteers\u00a0 to raise awareness about available services, provide basic needs, and make connections for people experiencing homelessness.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\nAs we prepare for the Community Outreach Day, we will be hearing from people who have or are currently experiencing homelessness so that we can ensure the structure and activities of the day are informed by their expertise and experiences.\u00a0 We will also be engaging with San Francisco service providers to better highlight the services offered in their programs. We hope that through these efforts, there will be greater awareness for the services available and more people in need will be able to access that care.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We invite you to join us as volunteers to walk around San Francisco to provide resources, referral information, and basic needs! You will receive a training on site and throughout the walk we will provide a map to showcase various other services that exist in the community you may or may not already be aware of as a way to learn about the programs and opportunities in our city and meet many of the people that provide these services.<\/p>\n

We want to thank the sponsors and donors who have made our spring fundraising events possible in past years and who have generously given throughout this last year, which has allowed us to make this change in our planning. We are grateful for the opportunity to focus on raising awareness and providing direct support for people in need, rather than a focus on raising funds as we normally would this time of the year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
