Last week, Project Homeless Connect and HOPE hosted a social services happy hour at Runway in the Market Square building. The event was designed to celebrate the hard work and dedication of front line staff and to provide an opportunity to network. The happy hour was a great opportunity for over 40 service providers to come together and enjoy delicious snacks while more importantly getting to know each other and learning about resources in our community.
Over the course of two hours we were able to learn about new programs, share ideas about how to make hard to access services more accessible, and make some new friends! We had providers from a variety of organizations including shelters, mental health providers, medical providers, domestic violence programs, and housing search agencies. In addition to networking and snacks, we also raffled off three great prizes including event tickets, gift cards and a 60 minute massage. Project Homeless Connect hopes to continue hosting these events to help connect service providers and share information and ideas so we can better serve our clients together.
