With the current pandemic disproportionately affecting people experiencing homelessness and people who are economically vulnerable, Project Homeless Connect is proud to partner with Hayes Valley Bakeworks to bring a new lunch program to our Drop-In Program.
This Program will allow Bakeworks to deliver meals to PHC, so they can be distributed to people experiencing homelessness who are reaching out for assistance with essential services. Hayes Valley Bakeworks is a nonprofit “social enterprise”, that operates as a café that also provides employment and training for people with disabilities, who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness . PHC and Hayes Valley Bakeworks have partnered in the past through their mutual partners during an annual Muffin Day fundraiser. Hopefully this partnership will provide a lasting positive impact on our community!
In order support the success of this meal program, we are asking for your help! With the current goal of offering 50 meals a week, Hayes Valley Bakeworks has established an online store for people to purchase a meal for someone in need.
The more meals sold, the more they will be able to provide!
